Description
- Wisteria Floribunda Lectin (WFA, WFL), fluorescein (FITC), is a bright-green WFA-fluorophor conjugate. WFA is sourced from Wisteria floribunda (common name: Japanese wisteria), which is a species of flowering plant in the pea family Fabaceae, native to Japan. Due to the specificity of WFA, it has been used in many fields to label certain cells.
- In neurobiology, it has been used to detect perineuronal net. In the gastrointestinal tract, it stains the foveolar epithelium of normal gastric mucosa. This lectin has also been used as a marker of certain types of ovarian cancer.
- Very bright FITC conjugate detected with traditional FITC/GFP filter set, Ex/Em: 495/515 nm
- Applications: immunofluorescence, glycobiology
- Sugar specificity: N-acetylgalactosamine
- Inhibiting/eluting sugar: 200 mM N-acetylgalactosamine
- Blood group specify: non-specific
- Unconjugated lectin molecular weight: 116 KDa
- Immunofluorescence working concentration: 5–20 μg/mL
- WFA-FITC is supplied at a 2 mg/mL concentration in 10 mM HEPES, 0.15 M NaCl, pH 7.5, 0.08% sodium azide. 0.1 mM Ca2+
- A precipitate may form during storage. This does not have a significant adverse effect on the product. If a precipitate forms upon long-term storage at 4°C, warm to 37°C and centrifuge before use.
