Description

Available with spray-coated EDTA or silica clot act additive. BD Vacutainer™ Crossmatch Serum Tubes are plastic tubes with a pink Hemogard™ closure and extra-large block label that are used to obtain either a serum sample or a whole blood or EDTA plasma sample.

The BD Vacutainer™ system is a closed system optimally designed and tested for controlling pre-analytical variability throughout the specimen collection and handling process. The BD Vacutainer™ Crossmatch tube is identified by:
  • Sterile evacuated tube made of durable PET plastic
  • Color coded pink Hemogard™ Cap designed for use with Vacutainer needles and tube holders
  • Specialized label is larger than a typical block label to allow more information to be recorded
  • Mixing: Tubes should be gently inverted 180° and back several times (5-6X for Silica, 8-10X for EDTA)
  • Centrifugation conditions: ≤1300 g for 10 minutes at room temperature (25°C)
