BD Vacutainer™ Glass Aprotinine K3EDTA Tube
Description
The BD Vacutainer™ system is optimally designed and tested for controlling pre-analytical variability throughout the specimen collection and handling process. Collection tubes have the precise vacuum level to collect the needed sample size, and are designed to work with Vacutainer double-sided needles and tube holders
- EDTA tubes are used to obtain a whole blood or EDTA plasma sample
- K3 Potassium Salt of EDTA (Ethylene Diamine Tetra Acetic acid) is used as an anticoagulant
- K3EDTA is a liquid solution in the BD Vacutainer™ Glass Tubes
- Aprotinine K3EDTA tube is used for assays that require a proteolytic enzyme inhibitor
- A pink-peach cap identifies Aprotinine K3EDTA tubes, to differentiate it from regular EDTA tubes
- The cap color does not follow the color code described in ISO 6710:1995
- Ensure that users are aware, so the wrong tube is not used for a test, which may result in analytical error
