Applications
Trans,trans-2,4-Hexadien-1-ol is used in the preparation of trans-2,3-methano-4(Z)-hexenol by reacting with diiodomethane. It is used as a flavor and fragrance agent having pineapple odor.

Solubility
Slightly miscible with water.

Notes
Air and light sensitive. Keep the container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, acid chlorides and acid anhydrides.
