Description
Sensi-Disc susceptibility test discs are used for semi-quantitative in vitro susceptibility testing by the agar disc diffusion test procedure of common, rapidly growing and certain fastidious bacterial pathogens.
- Discs employ the Bauer-Kirby disc diffusion testing method
- Antimicrobial agents are impregnated on high- quality paper
- Discs are clearly marked on both sides to indicate the agent and the drug content
- Sensi-Discs are furnished in a cartridge containing 50 discs each, packed in a glass tube
- Antimicrobial disks should be tested at least twice weekly for proper performance
- Specimens should not ordinarily be employed; pure cultures must be used
- Process: prepare inoculum with pure cultures, innocluate an agar plate, apply the discs to the plate, at least 24mm apart, incubate and examine the plates
