Description
Detect hydrolysis of sodium hippurate by beta-hemolytic streptococci, Gardnerella vaginalis, and Campylobacter jejuni with Thermo Scientific™ Remel™ Ninhydrin Reagent.The hippurate hydrolysis test determines the ability of group B streptococci as well as other bacteria to enzymatically hydrolyze sodium hippurate1-3. Hwang and Ederer employed the Ninhydrin Reagent in a rapid method to detect hippurate hydrolysis by the end product glycine4.
