Technique Preparation of Working Solutions Purple Hematoxylin is ready to use and does not require any preparation. Protocol Recommendations Counterstain 1. Rinse slides with deionized or distilled water. 2. Place slides into Purple Hematoxylin for 30-60 seconds. 3. Rinse slides in deionized or distilled water until all free hematoxylin has been removed. 4. Bluing the slides in an alkaline solution is not required and is not recommended.
