Main commercial usage is in the production of fertilizers and reagent for nitration. It implies in the applications for the production of explosives, nylon precursors, and specialty organic compounds. It is used as a chemical doping agent for organic semiconductors, and in purification processes for raw carbon nanotubes, artificially age pine and maple.
