IL-2 Monoclonal Antibody (MQ1-17H12), PE, eBioscience™, Invitrogen™
Rat Monoclonal Antibody
Brand: Invitrogen 12-7029-82
Description
Description: The MQ1-17H12 antibody reacts with human interleukin-2 (IL-2), a 17 kDa T cell growth factor and a major immunoregulatory cytokine. The MQ1-17H12 antibody is a non-neutralizing antibody. Applications Reported: MQ1-17H12 has been reported for use in intracellular flow cytometric analysis. Applications Tested: This MQ1-17H12 antibody is offered in 2 formats: - μg size: has been tested by intracellular staining of stimulated normal human perioheral blood cells. This can be used at less than or equal to 0.25 μg per test. A test is defined as the amount (μg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 μL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest. - test size: has been pre-titrated and tested by intracellular staining of stimulated normal human perioheral blood cells. This can be used at 5 μL (0.125 μg) per test. A test is defined as the amount (μg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 μL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. Excitation: 488-561 nm; Emission: 578 nm; Laser: Blue Laser, Green Laser, Yellow-Green Laser. Filtration: 0.2 μm post-manufacturing filtered.
Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is an immuno-modulatory cytokine that is important for the proliferation of activated T cells, differentiation of B cells, natural killer cells, monocytes and macrophages. IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric protein complex whose gamma chain is also shared by interleukin 4 (IL-4) and interleukin 7 (IL-7). The expression of the IL-2 gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, which represents an unusual regulatory mode for controlling the precise expression of a single gene. The targeted disruption of a gene similar to IL-2 in mice leads to an μgcerative colitis-like disease that suggests an essential role of this gene in the immune response to antigenic stimuli.Specifications
