Description

Solid phase sandwich ELISA used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous beta -NGF

  • Recognizes human beta-NGF
  • NGF is a member of neurotrophin family that regulates cell proliferation and differentiation and regulation of neural stem cells
  • beta-NGF stimulates growth of sympathetic and some sensory neurites

Process:

  • Antibody specific for beta -NGF pre-coated onto microwells
  • Beta-NGF protein in samples captured by coated antibody after incubation
  • After extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for beta-NGF is added to detect captured beta-NGF protein
  • For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent
  • Solution containing sulfuric acid used to stop color development and color intensity
    • Proportional to quantity of bound protein, measurable at 450 nm with correction wavelength set at 630 nm
